About Sprout Life Skills
Who we are, what makes us different, and how we work.
Sprout Life Skills is Kenya's first structured public speaking coaching system. We help children aged 6 to 17, working adults, and executives build authentic confidence and communication skills through real coaching, real feedback, and a proven methodology. All our programs run through SproutHub, our proprietary coaching platform, with options for in-person sessions at our Kilimani centre, online via Zoom, or on-site at your school or organisation.
Three things. First, we have a structured system called the Sprout Model built on three pillars: Naturalness, Voice, and Words. It is not a drama class or a debate club. It is a coaching methodology designed specifically for building speaking confidence. Second, every student gets personal coach feedback on every assignment, not AI-generated responses, not group feedback. Third, everything is tracked through SproutHub, so you can see real progress over time. No other provider in Kenya offers this combination.
Over 500 students trained since 2023, a 98% satisfaction rate, and more than 35 verified reviews on Google averaging 4.9 stars. But the best proof is the transformation you see in the first few weeks. That is why we offer a free introductory session for most programs, so you can experience the coaching before committing. Read our Google reviews here.
All Sprout coaches are trained in the Sprout Model and specialise in confidence coaching and communication skills. The program is led by Gikuyu Muchai, Co-Founder and Lead Coach, who personally handles executive coaching and oversees all program delivery. Every coach assigned to your program is someone who has been trained, assessed, and approved to deliver the Sprout curriculum.
Our centre is at TRC, Tigoni Road, opposite Naivas Kilimani, Nairobi. In-person sessions for kids and adults happen here. We also offer online sessions via Zoom for anyone in Kenya or beyond, home coaching where the coach comes to you, and on-site training for schools and corporates at their location.
SproutHub is our proprietary coaching platform at hub.sprouts.co.ke. It powers all Sprout programs across all audiences. Through SproutHub, learners access structured content, join live sessions, upload video assignments, receive coach assessments, and track their progress. Parents get a dedicated dashboard to monitor their child's journey. Adults and executives see their own program view. Billing and payments are also handled through SproutHub. Learn more about SproutHub.
Nothing to download. SproutHub runs entirely in your browser on any device, whether desktop, tablet, or phone. Live sessions run through Zoom, which you may already have. If not, Zoom installs in under a minute and we walk you through it at onboarding.
Kids Programs (Ages 6 to 17)
Questions about our children's programs including the Complete Kids Course, home coaching, holiday classes, World Scholars coaching, and the Speaking Championship. View all kids programs.
We serve children aged 6 to 17 across three age-specific tracks. Sprout Spark covers ages 6 to 9 with foundational speaking skills. Teen Titan serves ages 10 to 13, building identity, voice, and persuasion. Sprout Star is for ages 14 to 17, ending with a real Capstone Presentation. Every age group uses its own curriculum book and coaching approach. We do not stretch one curriculum across all ages.
It depends on your family's schedule and your child's needs. The Complete Kids Course is our flagship program with weekly group sessions, available in-person at Kilimani or online, with cohorts running on flexible days. Home Coaching is one-on-one, fully personalised, at your home or online. Holiday Classes are intensive one-week programs during school breaks. World Scholars Coaching is specialised competition prep. Not sure? Talk to us and we will recommend the best fit.
The curriculum is identical. Online sessions run via Zoom and are accessible from anywhere. In-person sessions happen at our Kilimani centre with the same coaches, same structure, and same SproutHub tracking. The choice is about convenience and format preference, not quality. Many families start online and move to in-person later, or the other way around.
Shy children are consistently among our most dramatic transformations. Our coaches are trained to meet every child where they are. The Sprout Model starts with Naturalness, which means building comfort and self-awareness before asking anyone to perform. For very shy children, one-on-one home coaching removes the pressure of peers entirely. In group settings, small class sizes and a supportive environment mean no child is ever put on the spot before they are ready.
Yes. For home coaching, siblings can share a session with discounted pricing for the second and third child. Siblings can be in different age tracks since we use age-appropriate curriculum for each child within the session. For group classes, siblings in the same age track join the same cohort. A sibling discount applies across all formats.
Give us 24 hours notice and your coach will propose alternative slots. We understand children have sport commitments, family events, and occasional illness. For group classes, session recordings and materials are available through SproutHub so your child can catch up. We ask that rescheduling stays reasonable rather than habitual, but we are here to work around your real life.
Yes. Parents and children have separate access to the same SproutHub account from different views. The parent dashboard gives you visibility over assignments, coach feedback, session attendance, and billing. The learner view is what your child uses for sessions, practice videos, and submitting assignments. You can see exactly what is happening at every step.
The Sprout Speaking Championship is Kenya's premier kids public speaking competition. Children get real stage experience, perform in front of expert judges and a live audience, and compete for prizes. It is an annual event and one of the most powerful confidence-building experiences we offer. Registration is open to all children in the relevant age range, not just current Sprout students.
BES is Sprout's structured public speaking program for working adults. It is an 8-session course that covers everything from managing nerves and finding your natural speaking voice to structuring presentations and delivering with impact. You get the BES learning book, personal video coaching, coach feedback on every assignment, SproutHub access, and a certificate on completion. It is designed for professionals who want practical skills, not theory.
BES is available in two formats. Online at KES 18,000 with a maximum of 20 students per cohort. In-person at KES 25,000 with a maximum of 8 students at our Kilimani centre. Both formats cover the same curriculum and include the same materials. All programs are cohort-based, and you can enrol in any available cohort running on any day or time that suits you.
Absolutely. Most of our adult learners come to us because they have avoided public speaking for years. The program is built to take you from wherever you are. Beginners are not held back by advanced speakers in the group because the methodology focuses on personal growth from your individual starting point, not competition with others.
All BES cohorts are scheduled based on demand and run on different days and times. When you enrol, you choose from available cohorts that fit your schedule. Cohorts typically run on weekday evenings, but this varies. Check the BES page for current availability or contact us to ask about upcoming start dates.
If you need one-on-one coaching for board presentations, investor pitches, media appearances, or leadership communication, Executive Coaching is the right fit. It is personalised, private, and led directly by Gikuyu Muchai.
Yes. On completing all 8 sessions and assignments, you receive a Sprout Life Skills certificate of completion. More importantly, you walk away with a practical skill set you can use immediately in your career.
Executive and Corporate Training
For senior professionals, HR managers, and organisations looking for team communication training. Learn about executive coaching.
Executive coaching is one-on-one with Gikuyu Muchai and covers board presence, leadership communication, investor pitches, media appearances, and high-stakes speaking situations. The program is fully personalised to your specific professional challenges. It is not a group class with a fixed curriculum. It is private coaching shaped around you.
Yes. Corporate teams can take our existing curriculum as-is or get a customised program based on your team's specific needs. Training is flexible in every dimension: online, in-person at our centre, or on-site at your office. Timing, duration, and frequency are all shaped around what works for your organisation. There is no minimum number of people to enrol.
Pricing depends on the nature of the program: whether it is off-the-shelf or customised, the number of participants, the delivery mode, and the duration. We will put together a proposal after understanding your needs. Contact us for a conversation.
Teams come away with measurably clearer communication, more confident presenters, and stronger internal and external messaging. We focus on practical, behaviour-level change, not theory. Every participant gets personal coach feedback and SproutHub access to continue practising after the program ends. We can discuss specific KPIs and reporting if your organisation requires them.
Yes. We are happy to run a discovery session so your team or leadership can experience the coaching style and methodology before committing to a full program. Book a discovery call to get started.
Schools and Partnerships
How schools and organisations can bring Sprout coaching to their students.
Yes. Our Sprout Speakers program is offered directly to schools. This model allows for bulk enrolments at highly subsidised rates, customisation of the curriculum to fit the school's goals, and teacher training so your staff can reinforce the skills we build. It is a structured partnership, not a one-off assembly visit.
Schools enrol children in groups, with a minimum of 5 students per group. The minimum enrolment is two groups for a school to sign up. This ensures the program runs with enough students for meaningful group dynamics and makes the subsidised pricing sustainable.
Yes. We train teachers on the Sprout methodology so they can support and reinforce what students learn in the program. This makes the impact stick beyond just the coaching sessions and integrates naturally into the school's existing approach to student development.
Absolutely. While the core Sprout Model (Naturalness, Voice, Words) stays intact, the topics, themes, and delivery schedule can be tailored to align with your school calendar, values, or focus areas. Some schools integrate our program into their life skills or extracurricular calendar. Others run it as a standalone enrichment activity.
Contact us and let us know your school, the number of students you are considering, and what you are hoping to achieve. We will set up a conversation, walk you through the Sprout Speakers model, and put together a proposal tailored to your school. The process is straightforward and we move quickly.
Billing, Payments, and Logistics
Everything about payments, scheduling, and account management.
We accept M-Pesa, card payments (via Paystack), and bank transfer. Payments are processed through SproutHub, and you can track your payment history and download receipts directly from your dashboard.
Yes. Most of our programs allow payment by instalments. The instalment structure varies by program, so check with us at enrolment and we will walk you through the options available for your specific program.
No long-term contracts. You enrol per cohort or per program. For ongoing programs like the kids' Complete Course, billing runs month to month. You can stop before your next billing date and owe nothing more.
Cancellation and refund terms depend on the specific program. For executive coaching and adult classes, we highly recommend completing the full program to see results, and our team will work with you on scheduling flexibility rather than cancellation. For kids' programs, you can cancel before the next billing cycle. For holiday classes and one-off programs, cancellation terms are communicated at enrolment. If you have a specific concern, reach out to us and we will be upfront about what applies.
Yes. Give us at least 24 hours notice and your coach will propose alternative slots. For group sessions, materials and recordings are accessible through SproutHub so you or your child can catch up. We understand that life happens and we work around it.
Your account stays active until the end of the current billing period. After that, access to live sessions and new coach feedback ends, but all previously submitted assignments and coach feedback notes remain visible in your account. You can re-enrol in any future cohort without losing your history.
